In May 2026 it is the 100th anniversary of birth, and in September the 35th anniversary of the death of Jan Józef Lipski, a literary historian (scientist of Jan Kasprowicz's work), a journalist, 1 of the most celebrated opposition activists before August 1980, a socialist, a senator of the 1st word 1989-1991, and above all a freemulator whose determination contributed to the revival of Royal Art in post-war Poland.
He was born on May 25, 1926 in Warsaw to an intellectual household as the boy of Roman Lipski, a mechanic engineer, a school principal, and aniela from Kobla's home.
Started before the outbreak of the war, school discipline continued during the business on secret sets, simultaneously engaging in conspiracy activities in the Grey Orders and participating
in the actions of the alleged tiny sabotage “Wawer”. From 1943, he was a soldier of the National Army in the battalion and then the “Baszt” regiment, with which he fought in the Warsaw Uprising in Mokotów. After the end of the war in 1946 he passed his M.A. and began his Polish studies at the University of Warsaw. He participated in student intellectual life as a associate of the Polish ellipse and as a associate of informal self-educational circles and discussion clubs. He was 1 of the founders of the doctrine of the neo-Political group called the Neopickwickist Club, as well as an active discussion at meetings of young sociologists focused around Czesław Czapów (1925-1980) – the creator of the Warsaw school of rehabilitation, followed by the Institute of Social Prevention and Resocialization at the University of Warsaw.
