Marek Jakubiak, a candidate for president of the Polish Free Republican faction, believes that Poland is no longer worth being in the European Union.
"It is worth considering whether Poland pays to be in the European Union," Jakubiak said in an interview with Do Thing.
He argues that in the Polish budget law the costs resulting from EU membership are far outweighed by revenue.
"If the budget of the state for 2025 on the front page, where budget revenues are mentioned, among various taxes and so on, is the last entry of "non-refundable subsidies from the European Union" of 4.6 billion, while we pay over 32 billion contributions, we are losers," said the presidential candidate.
At the same time, he pointed out that financial receipts from the EU go to Poland mainly in the form of loans.
“They give us everything in the form of loans. The alleged KPO (national recovery plan – ed.). It was expected to be a non-return part, and it was expected to be a non-return part. Poland received only the return part, and the non-refundable part was utilized by Germany and the French. KPO is simply a loan. And these are unfavorable, deliberate loans," Jakubiak said.
