Belarus has previously served as the essential  link in the fresh  Silk Road. Through the Brest–Małaszewicze crossing, dozens of trains connect China to Europe all  day. Each warehouse marked for Minsk revenues from railway services, infrastructure charges or transhipments in Brest. The closure of this way   in practice deprives Belarus of 1  of the last crucial   advantages towards the West. It follows that Poland may usage  the capacity of Małaszewicz as a lever – limiting or allowing transit depending on the behaviour of Belarus.
