The efforts to make autonomous atomic capabilities can be perceived either as a failure of trust in U.S. deterrence, which would be a bad signal to the Americans, or they can besides constitute an effort to break the bonds of dependence and accomplish self-sufficiency, writes Jacek Czaputowicz, erstwhile Minister of abroad Affairs.
