Israel: ‘Iron beam’ will burn missiles and drones

The agreement signed present with the Israeli Defence Ministry concerns the finalization of improvement work and the introduction of a fresh system, called Iron Beam (the Iron Belt) for operational service. It is to be ready for operational usage as early as next year. Iron Beam will be based on a 100 kW laser. This is more than most laser firing systems presently being developed (e.g. American Blue Halo late demonstrated on Stryker transporters has a power of 26 kW), which can let to combat a comparatively larger scope of targets.
