The contract was signed with Israel Aerospace Industries, which is the contractor of the Arrow 3 rocket strategy program. It is utilized for combating ballistic missiles that are outside the Earth's atmosphere – i.e. primarily average and intermediate scope missiles (MRBM/IRBM), with a scope of about a 1000 to respective 1000 kilometres.
