Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanjahu said on Wednesday in an interview with Fox News station that Israel "will" take control of all Gaza.
Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel's Plan towards Gaza
Prior to the Israeli safety cabinet meeting, Netanyahu was asked by a writer whether Israel would take control of the Gaza Strip.
He replied: "We intend to do this to guarantee our safety, remove Hamas, let the population to live in freedom and transfer the territory to civilian authorities – which will not be Hamas or anyone who advocates the demolition of Israel.
– We want to liberate ourselves and liberate the people of Gaza from the terrible panic of Hamas," he added. However, Netanjahu noted that Israel "does not want to keep it." We want a safety zone. We don't want to regulation this territory. We do not want to be there as the ruling authority," he pointed out.
Let us besides add that in an interview with CBS News, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee stated that it is not the function of the US to "say what Israel should and should not do." Huckabee noted that people in Gaza "should not be forced to leave their territory".
U.S. and Hamas position
When asked what advice president Donald Trump could give, Huckabee replied: "I remember erstwhile he said that 'I know what I would do, but I'm not certain anyone else would do it'. I think we realize what he meant: it wouldn't be good for Hamas.
Regarding the negotiations for the truce, Huckabee stated that "they were completely broken up due to the fact that Hamas did not take negotiations seriously".
Meanwhile, Hamas' terrorist organization reported that the Israeli Prime Minister's actions "represent a clear reversal of the negotiation course and clearly uncover the actual motives behind his withdrawal from the final circular (talk-ed.)".
Hamas believes the proposed action means that Netanyahu is willing to "consecrate" the remaining Israeli hostages in Gaza to prosecute "his individual interests". They warned against the effort to occupy Gaza and stressed that "the price will be high."
Let us remind: last Saturday Hamas released another recording with the Israeli hostage – Evatre David. The video shows an highly thin and hungry man digging down. “What I do is to dig a grave for me,” said the Israeli in a material published by a terrorist organization.
There are besides protests in Israel to end armed action in the Gaza Strip as shortly as possible and to lead to the release of surviving hostages.
As far as Gaza is concerned, the situation remains dramatic there – the Palestinian enclave is destroyed, and residents do not have access to adequate aid, including food.
