Stefania Toczyska – a world-famous mezzosoprano, opera vocalist and female who achieved everything in her field, was born in Grudziądz!
That year (19 February) she turned 80. On October 21, the Theatre Culture Centre held a ceremony of awarding an outstanding vocalist of the Grudziądzý Flisak Award, which is awarded for peculiar social, economical and cultural merit. It is an expression of gratitude to those who have contributed to the city’s glory and image with their lives and activities.

Maestra Toczyska herself, despite her 80 years of age, continues to radiate extraordinary elegance and grace, but besides intellectual acuity, and she came personally to the Grudziądzky Flisak Award ceremony.
Passion for Singing
