"I just had a very good telephone call with United States president Donald Trump. The main subject was the safety issues of Poland and our region in the context of the final B9 summit in Vilnius and the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague and the issue of expanding the level of associate States' defence spending," Andrzej Duda wrote on Friday evening.
Duda talked to Trump.
"I assured president Trump that Karol Nawrocki's triumph in the Polish elections would warrant the continuity of state policy in its key dimensions – especially as regards the continuation of excellent transatlantic relations and close cooperation between Poland and the United States, both institutionally and personally with president Trump" - he stressed.
On 2 June, the State Election Commission stated that it had already counted all the votes cast in the presidential elections in Poland. The winner of the presidential election was Karol Nawrocki. He defeated Rafał Trzaskowski with little than 400,000 votes.
Interestingly, there have been many reports of possible irregularities during the vote counting this week due to the second circular of presidential elections. Even the head of government spoke on Friday.
"Every reported case of irregularities in the number of votes is checked and analysed. Any falsifications are being investigated and punished. The protests will go to the ultimate Court. I realize emotions, but assuming in advance that the elections were falsified, it does not service the Polish state" – wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Friday.
"If you see irregularities – study them on the website http://election protest2025.pl/ and we will ask the State Election Commission to explain each of these cases," added Rafał Trzaskowski's chief of staff, Wioletta Paprock, on Thursday.
