Is this the end of tobacco cultivation in Poland? The WHO plan is simple

The plans of the planet wellness Organisation – which are to be formally discussed at the Panama Conference – go very far, as they concern not only further difficulties concerning tobacco plantations, but besides taxation alignment of excise duties on cigarettes and tobacco electronic products (e-cigarettes, popular tobacco heaters). The WHO is followed by the European Commission, which will most likely follow the suggestions of Panama. Moreover, the Commission would like to abandon the rule of unanimity in favour of a qualified vote. This is simply a direction which Germany and France have long been talking about, and which, from the position of the Government of Law and Justice, may seem peculiarly dangerous. It is likely that the issue of tobacco plantation will be a kind of experimental ground for those countries that will test how much a change in the voting strategy in the EC is possible.

Poland is 1 of the leaders of the tobacco industry

If, in fact, the provisions of the Panama Conference become law in the Union, Poland will have a major problem. We are 1 of the leaders of tobacco plantations in the EU, and the number of farmers increasing this plant over the Vistula is estimated to be around 20 1000 (data of the Polish Tobacco Plantation Union). The government's position on the substance is not yet known. Producers, growers and trade unionists are opposed.

According to information published present by the ‘Rzeczpospolita’, associate States will have time to submit their positions by 9 October. The Ministry of Agriculture should so work on double turnovers in order to get ahead of the deadline.

A bad forecast before the November conference is the fresh break-up of talks between tobacco growers and the Ministry of Health. Let us remind you: in early September there was a tobacco growers meeting, representatives of the MZ and the Ministry of Agriculture. erstwhile Deputy Minister Maciej Miłkowski, representing the wellness ministry, found out who he was dealing with, he just got up and left. Minister Telus, who listened to the representatives of the industry, was better off. Now it will be revealed whether the words of support for growers will be converted into actions.

PiS has allowed almost all 3 Poles to smoke and farmers exporting tobacco will send them down. It's like they're not worried about inflation and deficiency of KPO. #Stacks@KPRM_CIR@MriRW_GOV_EN@MF_GOV_PLhttps://t.co/Lm0eakJpnK
