As announced by the Spanish government, the legalization of the residence of illegal immigrants has met with criticism. This is not only about more than half a million immigrants already residing in Spain, but besides about their household members who will be able to come under the European household reunification directive. There are increasing concerns that the flood of Europe by migrants can lead to a deeper safety crisis in the European Union.
