Is Russia weakening in the Caucasus and Central Asia?

The outbreak of fighting between Armenia and Azerbaijan and clashes on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border show that Russia's position as a preservation force for the post-Soviet order is weakening on the outskirts of the erstwhile USSR, says Krzysztof Strachota, an expert at the Centre for east Studies.
