As expected, the elections in Israel did not bring a solution and led to a stalemate. The Netanyahu bloc won 53 seats, the opposition camp led by Eisenkot – 48, and the arabian parties – 19. Each of the main players is missing a majority, and the formal handing over of the results to president Herzog will not take place until 4 November. Until then, Netanyahu remains interim prime minister, and the Knesset will be sworn in on 10 November, regardless of whether individual manages to form a government.
