A typical of the Iranian muslim Revolutionary defender Corps (IRGC) reported that the minimum age entitled to participate in support activities related to the war with the US and Israel was reduced to 12 years.

IRGC Cultural Officer Rahim Nadali said that the initiative called "For Iran" has recruited people to aid with activities specified as patrols, checkpoints and logistics.

– Given that the younger people are volunteering and asking to participate, we have reduced the minimum age to 12 years," said Nadali, whose message the state media published. He added that now even 12- and 13-year-olds can participate in specified activities if they want to.

The decision to reduce the age of those willing to assist the armed forces was taken despite Iran's obligations under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which prohibits the usage of children in war activities.
