Turks study that the rocket was launched from Iranian territory and passed through Iraqi and Syrian airspace. It was then shot down by NATO systems deployed in the east Mediterranean. The remains were to fall into the Dörtyol territory of Hatay state in northern Syria, just off the border with Turkey. No casualties or material harm were recorded on earth.
