Iran confirmed the death of the intelligence minister

Iran's president Masud Pezeszkaan confirmed the death of the intelligence minister Esmail Chatib on Wednesday. Israel had previously declared that he was killed in a "precision strike" in Tehran.

"The cowardly killing of my dear colleagues Esmail Chatib, (secretary of Iran's National safety Council) Ali Larigani and (defensive minister) Aziz Nasiradeh, as well as any members of their families and their teams, have grieved us" wrote Pezeshkan on platform X.

Israeli defence minister Israel Kac announced Wednesday that Chatib was killed in a night attack on Iran.
