Iran powerfully condemned the American attack on its territory, calling it a gross violation of global law. The Iranian authorities announced the consequences and reserved the right of defence. On Sunday morning Israeli forces reported the launch of ballistic missiles towards their territory.
On Sunday, Iranian diplomacy chief Abbas Aragchi stated that the attack by the United States on Iranian atomic facilities was "a serious violation of the United Nations Charter, global law and the Non-Proliferation Treaty". The communication provided by the Iranian media highlighted that US action would have, as noted, "eternal consequences".
"Iran reserves all chance to defend his nation, territory and national interests," Aragchi noted.
Tehran besides stated that until Israel ceases its attacks in Iran, there is no discussion with the American authorities.
In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked U.S. president Donald Trump for, as he said, "a courageous decision," which he thought would "write down in history."
Meanwhile, the Israeli army reported the launch of ballistic missiles from Iran towards the northern and central areas of Israel. According to local sources, explosions and alarm sirens were heard over Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
Following the escalation of the situation, the Israeli authorities decided to close the airspace. El Al and Arkia temporarily suspended flights from and to Israel.
The Ministry of wellness has called on citizens to stay close to shelters and the military remains on advanced alert.
