Iraq: US Embassy Baghdad was again attacked by rockets and drones

Rockets and drones with explosives struck the U.S. embassy again in Baghdad – reported Iraqi safety services today, as quoted by Reuter and AFP agencies. The facility was already the mark of an attack earlier that morning.

The witness told the AFP agency at 1 of Baghdad's restaurants that he saw explosions in the sky, triggered by the anti-aircraft defence forces of the embassy, capturing the missiles.

Another individual reported a fire on the premises. According to a typical of the Iraqi safety services, the fire was to be caused by a drone attack.

The U.S. Embassy was besides hit on Saturday by an Iranian missile, and on Monday evening, after the drone struck, a fire broke out on the hotel roof close the facility. However, this incidental did not origin any failure or damage.

Reuters, citing sources related to safety services, reported that the morning attack was the most intense since the start of the war in the region, which began on 28 February with the American-Israeli bombings of Iran.

In consequence to these actions, Iran and associated armed groups attack US targets in the region, including military bases and diplomatic missions.
