Trump intervention: “superintelligence” alternatively of “artificial intelligence”

The U.S. Department of State instructed employees to replace the word “artificial intelligence” with “superintelligence” in documents, speeches and press material,” said the Associated Press on Thursday. This is due to the US President's intervention in the UN.

The instructions to the State Department staff were circulated the day after president Donald Trump spoke to the UN General Assembly. Trump then announced that the name ‘artificial intelligence’ for AI sounded ‘false’ and should be amended, besides at the level of the state terminology utilized in authoritative documents.

President Trump besides opposed the creation of a global strategy of AI regulation and global control: whoever wins the "AI race", will win everything," said the US leader.
