In 2019, Russian economist Sergei Gurev and American political scientist Daniel Treisman published an essay A explanation of Informational Autocracy, which allows us to better realize the phenomenon of Law and Justice and the literary – legendary even – opposition to scandals. The basis of the title "information autocracy theory" is to establish the simple fact that about 70% of the population are not peculiarly curious in politics, and the vast majority of content in the information circulation is generated by the remaining 30%.
This reflection can be easy confirmed. The 10 largest Polish journals have an average sales of little than 0.5 million copies, of which almost half make “Fact” and “Super Express” tabloids. Meanwhile, there are 30 million adult Poles. Assuming that absolutely no 1 reads more than 1 journal, the biggest Polish journals are read by 1.5 percent of us. The same is actual of television. TVN's average TVN ratings are only 2.6 million viewers, or little than 9% of us. Counting 3.1 million viewers of the “News” of the government's Polish tv give another 10%, and 1.8 million viewers of the Polish “Events” are 6 percent. The 3 largest news televisions in Poland are viewed by not more than 1 in 4 Poles. Not much. Despite appearances on the Internet, this does not look much better. The most popular news portal remains Onet, who visits about 1 in 3 adult Poles.
