Two activists from the group The Last Generation tried to stick the bill on the reconstruction of bus and railway transport to the monument of Józef Poniatowski, which stands before the Presidential Palace in Warsaw. The incidental happened Friday morning. The full situation was recorded on a recording that the group published on social media.


In 1 of the online entries, activists presented their bill's draft under the name "Lex Last Generation". As they write, their main demands are the introduction of a monthly ticket for PLN 50 per country and the improvement of buses and railways from money for fresh highways.

"The climate collapse accelerates, we can no longer invest in emissions," we read on platform X.

The group announces that "they will do anything to get the bill to the Sejm by the end of the year". The entry included a recording in which activists gave a speech, addressing the president-elect Karol Nawrocki.

"Nawrocki is to be president for all Poles. We request a legislative initiative. Let him sign (Karol Nawrocki - ed.) 'Lex Last Generation' – says 1 of the activists.

State safety Service (SOP) officers rapidly stopped protesters. However, the last generation announces that this is not the end of their actions – in September they are preparing another large action.

A spokesperson for the SOP, Colonel Bogusław Piórkowski, said that activists were incapable to make it to the Palace. In an interview with the Interia portal, he reported that they did not resist, they only continued to give slogans.

Activists only went through the chains. The palace from the pavement, after which they were detained and asked to return to the public zone.
