Inciting murder?
date:24 July 2024 Editor: GKut

First days of December 2019. A fewer days ago, Donald Tusk was president of the European Council. His word of office expired on 30 November.

Since 1 December, he has been the president of the European People's Party. It is so a well-known and recognisable policy in both Europe and the world. Just a fewer days after taking the position of chair of the EPP, on 5 December 2019, Donald Tusk tweeted, on the authoritative profile of the EPP organization president, the following photo:

Donald Tusk in an indicative motion and the touchdown of a weapon aims at Donald Trump's back

In December 2019, Donald Trump was the incumbent president of the United States. His word expired a year later, after the November 2020 election. Already then, in December 2019, Tusk's presence of this photograph echoed a lot, not only in Polish but besides in abroad media. The electoral paper portal, with its disapproval for the picture, quoted 1 journalist’s comment: “There's comic jokes, and there's no one. This 1 from the point of view of diplomacy is tragic. Aim another politician in the back?

July 13, 2024 In Butler in state PennsylvaniaThere was an assassination effort on Donald Trump's life. The bomber shot a weapon at the head. Donald Trump miraculously avoided death. Is it lawful to combine the 2 above facts? If this kind of photograph were placed on a profile visible to the group of closest friends, the proverbial Kowalski (with all due respect to all those with that name), it could only be considered a distasteful joke. But it was done by a well-known politician, in an authoritative account assigned to the incumbent European organization chairmanship. Politics is not a joke, politics does not have area for jokes, especially specified jokes. Policies are decisions and consequences of these decisions. So it is legitimate to ask whether the assassination was a consequence of the publication of this photograph?

In the interests of security, the safety of not only politicians but besides individual states, especially in the interests of Poland's security, 1 should ask:

  • Will the Polish Sejm waive Donald Tusk's immunity?
  • Will Polish prosecutors question Donald Tusk for incitement to murder?
  • As part of legal aid, will the Polish prosecutor's office let the American side to conduct an investigation into the possible relation between the published photograph and the action of the assassins?

Politics is not a joke, politics should endure the consequences of its actions, including those not full thought out, seemingly innocent. He should. Unless he's protected by more than immunity.

Mr Bogdan
