In tribute to Heroes – VI Patrol Run of Memory of the Dead under Majdan

On October 10, the community of the 111th PUL advanced School of Hunting Squadron in Volomina organized for the sixth time the Patrol Run devoted to the memory of the Heroes who died at Majdan. This patriotic-sport event, is simply a permanent part of the calendar of events of our city and county, enjoys unwavering interest and receives excellent reviews of participants all year.

The Roman poet Horace said, “It is sweet and honorable to die for your homeland.” This conviction has undoubtedly become Halinka's life's motto, “Little”, Janka, “Biuk Grabka, Pirat”, Romka, “Dąb” and Wacka, “Credo, Krzysztof, Gangster”. 80 years ago, on 20 July 1944, these 4 young men were killed at the hands of the German gendarmes while trying to aid an injured colleague. The savagery of war interrupted their lives, dreams, and plans.

Traditionally, celebrations devoted to the memory of the Heroes who died at Majdan began at the parish cemetery at the AK and NSZ Majdan Heroes Memorial. At the joint prayer and tribute of the fallen, they met the banner and the 111th Fighter Squadron in Volomina, Honorary ward of the school, parish priest of the parish of the Blessed Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary in Majdan, Fr Sławomir Wyszyński, Fr Łukasz Król from the Parish of Our woman of Czestochowa in Volomina, Representatives of the main patrons of the event: Deputy Mayor Volomin p. Łukasz Marek, associate of the Management Board of the Volominski region - Norwid Land and "The Miracle of the Vistula" p. Robert Roguski together with Mr. Piotr Wyszynski, p. Colonel Dr. Wojciech Sójka from the Department of safety of the National Academy of War Art, p. Captain Mateusz Marszałek from the 1st Warsaw Pancerna Brigade and the squad of Players together with the Educator from the simple School in Stryjki.

She was besides present as a guardian of the past of our town, Mr Anna Wojtkowska, who together with Mr Jacek Brzuszczyński gave the school the past of the fallen under Majdan. All present paid tribute to the Heroes in their prayer and in their graves. Then the school manager Agnieszka Kaczyńska invited to the next part of the event – Patrol Run and a performance of patriotic songs in Ossów.

Once again, the area of the Rev. Ignacy Skorupka Primary School in Ossów and the surrounding forest area was selected for the athletics and artistic part of the Memorial. Four-man patrols had to cross a 12-kilometre distance, and on the way execute specialized tasks: laser and pneumatic weapons shooting, grenade throw, force tasks, obstacle track and sanitary assistance task. There was besides an attractive obstacle course prepared by Adrenaline Rush moving partner and a water crossing secured by Legionowski WOPR.

All the players at the finish line had beautiful medals funded by Mr.Elżbieta Radwan Mayor of Volomina and T-shirts secured by: Salwa, the Give Me Wings Foundation, the Wołomin Sea Foundation – Kobyłka and our school.

The Patrol Run was a performance of patriotic songs performed by the Cadets I LO PUL in Wołomin under the direction of the Chor. Andrzej Spowióra.

The event was honored by representatives of Volomina Kombatant Unions: the Sibirac Union, the Union of the Kombatants and erstwhile Political Prisoners of Poland and the Union of War Invasions. The players were cheered by: the politician of the territory of Volominski p. Arkadiusz Werelich, the deputy mayor of the territory of Volominski p. Katarzyna Pazio, the deputy mayor of Volomina p. Sponsors of a delicious meal and medical safety are: Mayor of Zielonka, Mayor of Kobyłka, Mayor of Radzymin, Uniform Exchange, Hotel Trilogy, Board of the Main Union of NSZ Soldiers.

Teams were prepared by the Olympians from the Central Military Sports squad – peculiar expert Mateusz Brokowski, general Marcin Krukowski.

All DRUYNOM succeeded in successfully beating the way and performing all the tasks. They returned from the way tired, wet and dirty, but happy that they were able to overcome their own weaknesses. At the minute erstwhile the teams were fighting for a triumph laurel, the audience had the pleasance of listening to a performance of patriotic songs performed by students and staff of I LO PUL in Wołomin under the direction of Mr. The communicative of the full event was protected professionally by Mr Piotr Wyszyński.

Finally, the organizers and representatives of BIOGU Patrons awarded winners in squad and individual classification. A delicious treat was waiting for all participants – cakes prepared by Cadet Parents I LO PUL and peas served by Hotel Trilogy.

The 6th Memorial Patrol Run of the Dead under Majdan has already passed into history. Its organizers thank all participants and guests for their participation in the event and invitation them to participate in the next edition of this event next year.
