Sunday, July 14, 2024 in the village Domostawa The dedication and unveiling of the monument commemorating Polish victims of Ukrainian crimes in Volyn took place on the 81st anniversary of their culmination.
The author of the monument is late Professor. Andrzej Pityński, sculptor surviving from 1974 until his death (2022) in the United States, known among others from Katyn Memorial In Jersey City.
The 20-metre-long monument has an eagle form with a body placed in flames. Inside it is simply a cross with trident forks upon which the child's body was poured. On the reverse of the monument, the heads of the children were placed on the fences.
Memorial of the Victims of Genocide in the East Ends – due to the fact that that is the authoritative name of this memorial place – it is located in the immediate vicinity of the ILO Bukov, by the national road S-19 in the direction from Lublin to Rzeszów. It is worth noting that the monument was to be unveiled on 11 July 2018, even during the life of its creator but was not accepted by the authorities of Jelenia Góra, Rzeszów, Toruń and Stalowa Wola.
