I am very happy that on 29 September 1829, on the first day of the fresh Robert Peel formation, the first issue of the warrant issued by the metropolitan police was granted to William Atkinson. I'm little pleased that the first officer was fired after only 4 hours of service for being drunk.
As the 200th anniversary of the Metropolitan Police's establishment approaches, her condition would even embarrass my namesake. Police force is ineffective, prone to scandal and discredited. Since 2020, shoplifting has increased by 104%. Knife offences have reached the highest level in 14 years. In 2023, Louise Casey's study stated that metropolitan police were full of organization sexism, racism and abuse. Many fresh studies have shown that more than half of Londoners have no assurance in the police.
Instead of getting his affairs in order, the police decided to fight a very circumstantial group: Masons. I'm not a Mason. However, as a longtime fan of Luton Town who joined the Conservative organization at the age of 15, I feel a natural sympathy for members of peculiar organizations fighting for their rights. The attack by metropolitan police on masonry is an unwarranted effort to divert attention from its own failures.
The work of the officers to disclose belonging to the Masonry was recommended in a 2021 study on the Metropolitan Police investigation into the unsolved execution of private detective Daniel Morgan in 1987. The investigation revealed allegations of corruption, and about 10 officers active in the investigation were Masons. Although no evidence was found that the masonry had an impact on the execution or obstructed the investigation, the committee concluded that membership of this organization was “the origin of repeated suspicions and mistrusts”.
Masoneria is frequently associated with police failures, ranging from limiting the corruption investigation of Operation Countryman to tragedy at Hillsborough Stadium. There's small evidence of irregularities in the masonry, but it doesn't halt the vivid imagination. Programmes specified as “Inspector Morse” and “Ashes to Ashes” presented corruption in the Masonry as a common phenomenon. However, they do not reflect the reality of masonry in London police.
Of the 34,000 police officers, only about 400 are considered masons. Most beds meet at ceremonies and dinners no more than 8 times a year. Members of any football team, golf club or diversity network in London police meet much more often, with many opportunities to pat themselves on the shoulder or whisper in the ear. When I visited the UGLE Art deco office of Covent Garden in order to compose this article, I met no secret organization in the SPECTRE style, plotting a plan to conquer the world. In most cases, the speakers viewed masonry as a way of sacrificing themselves to something greater. UGLE claims that the Masons transfer almost £1 million a week to charity. fresh initiatives included assistance in introducing Covid vaccines and launching campaigns for men's intellectual health. any Masons are not looking for a comic handshake to get promotion, but to find a goal. As 1 of them put it, meetings are “primarily amateur theatrical performances with lots of beer and wine before and after.” "The most crucial attraction of masonry... is brotherhood".
Various Masonry customs – long known – specified as secret handshakes, initiation ceremonies with blindfolded eyes and references to the large Architect of the Universe seem unusual to you bystanders. The Masons see themselves as heirs to Hiram Abiff – a craftsman who built the Temple of Solomon – and their initiations focus on a symbolic revival in a more charitable state. The alleged 3 degrees of masonry – the Student, the Choladnik and Master Mason – represent stages of discipline based on medieval craftsmanship. However, erstwhile you reject old Testament rhetoric, all the emphasis on individual improvement sounds more like a self-help guide than a satanic plot.
Among the Masons there will be dishonest people. However, suggesting that this association is more harmful than others leads to falling into conspiracy theory. utilizing masons as an example will not solve the problems of metropolitan police, but will origin a tiny but crucial number of people with pro-social attitudes to consider their career elsewhere due to unjustified suspicions about their hobby.

Apparently, they got the incorrect thought about me. I'm not joining any organization that wants me as a member. Therefore, after careful consideration of the case, I will apply for admission to metropolitan police as a peculiar officer.
