The ship operated 10 (according to another information eight) combat helicopters that were supplied with fuel and ammunition on board. An improvised base for medium-sized combat helicopters Z-10 was a semi-anorous ship for the carriage of large cargo. It is interesting that the units of this class are in the planet – and in China – comparatively few. If China wanted to usage mass civilian units as bases for combat helicopters to support landing operations, it would seem that it would be more appropriate to usage many and much easier, equally large container carriers for this purpose. Just as they did during the Falkland Islands War, the British, who utilized it as a base for Harrier's verticals container ship "Atlantic Conveyor".
