The president's wage is not something settled contractually during any kind of occupation interview. Instead, everything is very clearly specified in the Act of 31 July 1981. This is what the president of Poland should earn.
The earnings of the president of Poland are a complicated issue
Let us start with the fact that the final wage of the president of Poland consists of 3 elements. It is simply a basic salary, a functional allowance, and an allowance for years. In theory, it is rather simple, in practice not so much.
Let's start with the basic salary. This is 9.8 times the base amount. This, on the another hand, is determined on the basis of a budget law. It is annually valued at an average yearly wage growth rate. The functional allowance is 4.2 times the base amount. On the another hand, the allowance for years may be up to 20% of the basic salary, and its amount depends on how many years in the administration (at different levels) the president has worked.
That's the point now. How much does the president of Poland truly gain in 2025? The base amount in 2025 is PLN 1878.89. Thanks to this, it is known that the President's basic wage is PLN 18,413.12 gross, the functional allowance is PLN 7,891.34 gross, and the maximum amount of the allowance for years is PLN 3,682.62 gross. Ultimately, the president of Poland in 2025 can gain PLN 29,987.08 gross per month. Now let's see how much it actually goes into his private account.
That's what the president of Poland earns a month. "On hand" is not that much
The president, like any another man, must pay taxes from his monthly salary. After their deduction, the president of Poland "on hand" earns about 21 1000 PLN. Thus, on a yearly basis this gives wages of approx. PLN 252 thousand. For this amount he can buy about half a studio flat in Warsaw.
Of course, the president besides has a long list of privileges. At all turn, besides in private time, it is protected by the SOP. At his disposal are government aircraft and helicopters, as well as residences. president Andrzej Duda peculiarly frequently visited the 1 in Jurat on the Baltic. However, the head of the state is besides at the disposal of the castle in Wisła, a place in Ciechocinek, or Belveder at the Royal Bathrooms in Warsaw. On the another hand, the president permanently serves in the palace in Krakowskie Przedmieście.
Despite these privileges, his earnings against the background of another European presidents do not look very impressive. The German president earns EUR 214 000 gross per year (more than PLN 900 thousand). The president of France enjoys a wage of about EUR 15,000 per period (about PLN 64,000). The president of the United States will collect about PLN 1.6 million a year. And although the wage of the president of Poland looks pale, it is worth reminding that the first lady, or his spouse, does not gain a buck or a buck for doing her job.
