What is the 2025 parliamentary allowance? 200 PLN more for MPs and Senators
The wage is treated as a wage from the employment relationship. It amounts to 80 percent of the wage of the Undersecretary of State. This is referred to in Article 25(2) of the Act of 9 May 1996 on the exercise of the mandate of a associate and Senator. On 1 January 2025, a fresh budget bill came into force, which introduced increases for politicians.

The current wage is PLN 13,467.92 gross and the parliamentary allowance is PLN 4208.73 gross. Together this gives 17,676.65. Compared to last year the wage increased by about 5%, from PLN 12,826.64 to PLN 13,467.92 gross per month. This is an increase of PLN 641,28. In turn, the diet was increased by PLN 200.40, from PLN 4 008.33 to PLN 4 208.73 gross. Assuming the MP/senator receives a wage of PLN 12,200 net, the average Pole with a wage of PLN 4000 net must work for this over 3 months.

How much does the MP earn? A wage and a diet are not all
As you can read on sejm.gov.pl, the professional MP is the parliamentarian who collects the parliamentary wage in full height, which means that "the parliamentary salary" is his sole or main origin of income. Many politicians, however, can make more. We are talking about people who execute additional functions within the Sejm or Senate. They can number on the alleged function allowances, i.e. remuneration for additional responsibility. They are paid monthly in the full amount not exceeding 35 percent of the salary, or approx. 4713 PLN. These are:

Chairman of the committee: +20% to pay (about PLN 2700 gross),
Vice-President: +15 % (about PLN 2000 gross),
Chairman of the subcommittee: +10% (about PLN 1350 gross).

In addition, the MP receives a lump sum of PLN 23,310 per period to run the office. However, it is no longer a remuneration, but a fund for the costs of the activity of the parliamentary office. This may cover, among others, expenditure on salaries of staff of parliamentary offices, translation, expertise and opinions straight drawn up by experts.
