In May next year we organize the EXMATEC/WOCSDICE conference in Gdańsk. EXMATEC to Expert Evaluation and Control of Compound Semiconductor Materials and Technologies, and WOCSDICE to Workshop on Compound Semiconductor Devices and Integrated Circuits held in Europe. I will be the president of Exmatecu, and my colleague Paul Prystawko Wocsdice. Why are we organizing in Gdańsk and not in Warsaw? It's a tradition to be by the sea. This year it was in Cadiz, earlier in Heraklion, Palermo, the Azores, in Aveiro, on Porquerolles Island. In Gdańsk the water will be colder, but the conference place, the Philharmonic other the crane on Motława, is fantastic.
It was so ridiculous that our Conference was at precisely the same time as the Games on Steroids, or Enhanced Games in Las Vegas. It will be a competition in light athletics, swimming and weightlifting. The players will be able to inject as much as they want. No doping checks. Gold medalists will get $250,000, and there will be even more for planet records. The records of course the ICC will not recognize, but it will be interesting to see how many results can be improved with the usage of spraying.
By the way, I'm serving any planet records that no 1 has been able to beat for years:
- jump in the distance of 8.95 m Mike Powell 1991,
- hammer throw 86.76 m Yuriy Siedych 1986,
- javelin throw 98,48 Jan Żelezne, 1996,
- 100 m women 10.49 sec Florence Griffith-Joyner, 1988,
- 400 m women moving 47.60 sec Marita Koch, 1985.
As you can see, there are many records from many years ago, erstwhile anti-doping checks were not so sophisticated. There is simply a likelihood that on average Olympics and another competitions these records will never be beaten.
And the audience is waiting for fresh records. If Las Vegas records go bad, it's gonna be the end of the Olympics and the anti-doping championship. People want records, and the fact that athletes will ruin their wellness is “who cares?”
In any case, we at our Conference in Gdańsk will not do any anti-doping checks and we anticipate the planet records to collapse. What are the records? For example, the number of defects in gallium nitride, or the transistor power at 28 GHz frequency. I want there were $250,000 in prizes for specified records.
