MADRID- Iberia (IB) is set to enhance its global network for the summer 2025 season, offering increased connectivity to key markets. The airline will operate 140 weekly flights between Spain and the United States while expanding its presence in Latin America, Europe, and Asia.

Iberia’s summer schedule also includes the return of seasonal routes across Europe, with additional flights to major destinations. The carrier’s fleet expansion with the A321XLR will strengthen its transatlantic operations, ensuring greater accessibility for travelers.

Iberia Flights for Summer 2025

Iberia (IB) has announced significant capacity increases across multiple regions in the summer of 2025.

The airline will operate 3.2 million seats between Europe and Latin America, marking a 4% increase compared to 2024.

Short and medium-haul routes will maintain 16 million available seats, reinforcing Iberia’s commitment to connectivity.

US Market Expansion

The United States remains a core focus for Iberia. The airline will operate 140 weekly flights between Spain and the U.S., a 14% increase from 2024, totaling 1.1 million seats.

The fleet expansion with A321XLR aircraft will enable efficient transatlantic service.

Key US destinations and frequency increases:

  • New York – 2 daily flights
  • Chicago – 1 daily flight
  • Miami – 2 daily flights
  • Dallas-Fort Worth – 1 daily flight
  • Los Angeles – 1 daily flight
  • San Francisco – 3 weekly flights
  • Boston – Increased to 2 daily flights from June
  • Washington, D.C. – Increased from 4 to 7 weekly flights

Boston and Washington will see the largest capacity growth, supported by Iberia’s new A321XLR aircraft, designed for long-haul efficiency.

Latin America

Iberia continues to dominate the Latin American market, serving 18 destinations across 16 countries. In the summer of 2025, weekly flight frequencies will rise for several routes:

  • Buenos Aires – 21 weekly flights (3 daily)
  • São Paulo – 14 weekly flights (2 daily)
  • Lima – 14 weekly flights (2 daily, starting May 2025)
  • Santiago de Chile – 10 flights per week initially, increasing to 11 from June
  • Rio de Janeiro – 5 weekly flights
  • Caracas – 3 to 5 weekly flights depending on demand
  • Guayaquil – 3 weekly flights

Other key routes such as Mexico City and Bogotá will maintain their triple-daily service, while Montevideo and Quito will continue with daily flights.

Central America and the Caribbean routes, including Puerto Rico, Santo Domingo, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and San Salvador, will offer daily flights. Panama will have four weekly flights, and Havana will retain three.

Asia and the Middle East

Iberia will maintain its recently launched Tokyo service, offering 3 weekly flights on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The route, introduced in October 2024, has already achieved a 90% occupancy rate.

Flights to Doha, Qatar, will continue with one direct daily Iberia flight and two additional Qatar Airways (QR) codeshare flights, allowing three daily connections from Madrid to Doha.

This route facilitates extensive onward connectivity across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Oceania.

European Expansion and Seasonal Flights Return

Iberia will reinforce its European network, particularly in France and Italy. Increased frequencies include:

  • Paris – 11 daily flights (4 more than in 2024)
  • Rome – 6 to 7 daily flights, increasing for the 2025 Jubilee Year
  • Brussels and Vienna – 4 daily flights each, up by 2 weekly frequencies

Popular seasonal routes resuming in summer 2025:

  • Ponta Delgada, Azores – 3 weekly flights (starting June 7)
  • Funchal and Faro – Up to 5 weekly flights
  • Tirana, Albania – 3 weekly flights (starting June 7)
  • Ljubljana, Slovenia – 2 weekly flights (starting July 27)
  • Greek Islands – Santorini, Mykonos (5-6 weekly flights), Corfu (7 weekly flights in August)
  • Athens – 30 weekly flights (3 more than 2024)
  • Croatia – Dubrovnik (17 weekly flights), Zagreb (9 weekly flights), Split (9 weekly flights)
  • Italy – Catania, Olbia, Cagliari, Palermo at 2024 levels

In total, Iberia will maintain 16 million short and medium-haul seats, reinforcing its network for summer travelers.
