In all crisis situation and in order to break the political capital of the Law and Justice, he reaches out for his most hard actions – scaring Poles with migrants. And there are already voices that could have been akin this time. And it's... it's about the miscalculation of votes in the second circular of the presidential election.
Łukasz Tyszler, a city councillor from Szczecin and the manager of SPSZOZ "HEALTH", a large infirmary in this city, has contact with PiS politicians. He hears what they say, reads comments. “Unfortunately, they are dominated by the desire to build specified a message to cover the issue of voting during the presidential election. They know that this is simply a large problem, due to the fact that a extremist part of the KO voters will live by it, filming the communicative that we have an illegal president. To cover this, illegal immigrants appear," said the local government in a conversation with Temat.pl.
Civil patrols and assaults at the border with Germany. That's what they call themselves.
And here the politicians of the Law and Justice (and more broadly, besides the Confederates) came to the aid of highly right-wing activists and nationalists who are gathering into alleged civic patrols. In Zgorzelec, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, on the border with Germany, on the last Sunday during the protest they shouted anti-immigrant and anti-Semitic slogans. "We have a common goal: to defend Poland," said Rafał, quoted by the "Gazeta Wyborcza" Rafał, from the "citizens' Patrons" association, an MMA player, known online as "Anticonfident".
In their conversation with the media, activists besides did not hide the joy that their actions were bearing fruit, due to the fact that foreigners had already begun complaining that in Poland they felt harassed. They appeared on June 29 in Zgorzelec. They set up at the border bridge of John Paul II. In social media, they wrote that it was a symbolic bridge – "a place of contact between civilizations".
In March – as the right-wing media reported – Citizens' Patrols were waiting for registration as an association. The group members besides started recruiting. It became public last autumn erstwhile groups of young men began gathering in the settlements of Polish towns to patrol the situation in their neighbourhood (read: check whether any foreigner intends to commit a crime).
"Civil Patrons is simply a social initiative aimed at improving safety in our cities and villages. We affect citizens in monitoring public spaces and cooperation with local services. We act independently and apolitically" – we read in the Facebook page description.
They besides have a website, late established a fundraiser for the headquarters, and in early June organized the first training of provincial coordinators. At the same time, the association reported that it had begun recruiting territory coordinators and hired "the first full-time employee". As we read, the office of the organization is located in the Harvest under Bydgoszcz.
On June 19, they added an announcement on FB that they were looking for people to various teams (volunteers), including field patrols, field support, but besides lawyers and psychologists for crisis interventions, and even a press spokesman.
Another entry from early June: "Many of you ask, 'But how precisely will it look in practice?'. We respond without hesitation: professionally, legally and effectively. It won't be a makeshift. It will be the best organised civilian safety strategy in Poland – bottom-up but with an iron structure".
It goes on to say that each citizen patrol consists of 3 to 5 people, and that dogs may be joined if the owner has full control over them. individual protection measures were besides mentioned, which can be utilized "in emergency situations", but it was added that all case of their usage "must be described in the study and passed on to the coordinator".
In the end there was besides a note: "We are not a militant. We're not a party. We are the movement of people who are no longer afraid. People who know courage is acting in spite of fear. We're legal. Responsible. Effectively. Without politics, without hatred – only with a sense of common purpose. Citizens' patrols. Your street. Your town. It's your business. Be there before it's besides late."
Matecki called, a period later they were waiting for registration
The organization repeats at all turn that it is simply a bottom-up initiative. Meanwhile, at the end of February 2025, just before the arrest, PiS MP Dariusz Matecki publically called for the return of civic patrols – the same ones that had been tied up a fewer months earlier.
"Do not let Donald Tusk's government, do not let Germans flood Poland with a wave of migrants. [...]. What can you do? Citizens' patrols. Patrols along borders to show you erstwhile they cross Germany, leave it somewhere in Poland at the border of migrants, evidence it, print information, call the police immediately, Border Guard, ask if it is all in accordance with regulations. [...] We gotta control what they are doing," Matecki said in a video published on X.
Finally, he appealed, "Do not let go of this subject. Whistle to local PiS MPs, Confederation. We must take Poland from the hands of these political bandits".
According to "Gazeta Wyborcza", the first citizens' patrols had already been established – at the Polish-Belarusian border. However, after the service began to identify participants, it became quieter. Now these "patrols" are reborn.
It started in Zgorzelec.
And members of this group, among others, arrived in Zgorzelec on June 29. Among another things, due to the fact that among the participants were besides members of the Association of the March of Independence, whose president in 2017-2023 was Robert Bąkiewicz. They sang in front of German policemen the Polish anthem and shouted "Muslim Deutschland!" or "Raus!".
They were wearing retro-reflective vests with the inscriptions "Civil Patrons" and Polish flags. Among the participants of the demonstration were mainly men, but besides women. Age varied: from teenagers, to 20–30-year-olds, to people aged about 60 years.
Two days earlier, on June 27, a group of about 100 people (mainly men) appeared at the border crossing of Lubieszyn-Linken. There, too, they conducted an action to defender the western border of Poland against illegal immigrants. On June 30, armed with binoculars, they conducted another action in Lubieszyn. The Agency's photographs besides show that among the participants were besides members of the Association of National Armed Forces of Szczecin District.
On 30 June, PiS and Confederacy politicians Zbigniew Bogucki and Krzysztof Bosak met with them. They didn't hide from each other's photos, they shook hands, and they stood together in front of cameras and media cameras.
In the action of "watching" borders, utmost right-wing activists include, like Robert Bąkiewicz and his squad from the self-proclaimed Border Defence Movement, but besides PiS politicians. On Monday, Jarosław Kaczyński publically declared that politicians of his organization would go there.

According to the media, "citizens" gather at the border all the time – after respective people – and shout anti-immigrant and anti-Semitic slogans. They claim that they are "watching the border" from the German police, who allegedly is moving illegal migrants to Poland.
But nothing like that has any place.
The worst they do is show where to go. German police are trying to complain that they show places for smugglers," said Onet, a man surviving on the German side just abroad.
Bąkiewicz again in action
In addition, as the borderers say, activists disturb their service – there is information that they are trying to look inside passing cars. They boast themselves that they halt and ID people. They besides lash out and insult border guards. "Do you have honor? For example, Robert Bąkiewicz asked soldiers of the Military Gendarmerie on 1 of the recordings that showed "Facts" of TVN.
On the X nationalist besides published a photograph of a Border defender officer and added that he was looking for her data.
"In our opinion, she committed a crime – at the request of the German side, she allowed migrants into Poland, causing a threat to the wellness and life of Polish citizens. He implements a migration policy against Poland – possibly at the command of superiors who deliberately violate the law. I ask you to spread her image. She must be held accountable" – wrote Bąkiewicz.
"With respect to false entries, we inform that a Border defender officer has carried out her duties in accordance with the laws! People who present illegally crossed the border from Poland to Germany received decisions from German services to refuse entry and were sent back to Poland" – the SG passed on Sunday.
– These people, who are hard to call patrols, are trying to provoke Polish officers in uniform – said Tomasz Siemoniak, head of the Ministry of abroad Affairs.
And the national defence minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish appealed to all who wanted to defend Polish borders, to join the Border Guard. “There are 1,500 jobs,” he said. “Ultra right-wing politicians do scenes on the border,” Donald Tusk concluded.
