Morning 10 April 2010

...we found ourselves in an abnormal reality

As we mention something that is inactive 5 years later seems to be a delusion, something false, coming from evil, dark, and far from the reality of sleep. God of faith, dream of mara. How much would I give to have what happens on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at around 9 a.m. (8.41) be the most sophisticated manifestation of crippled imagination. Just imagination. Why is it that the events that have been accomplished yet and irretrievably cannot be reversed? – I ask helplessly full aware of the absolute order of matters on this earth and the hard to bear for a man the inevitability of the premature, sophisticated end planned by the forces of the Evil, or the ending, as it has since birth been assigned to each of us, to halt the way of life and to leave for another world.

The tv was on. We were waiting for a transmission from Russia related to the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Katyn massacre. Everything was normal. On the screen you can see preparations for Holy Mass and celebration. Suddenly, the first message, not very clear, very vague, after which time began to flow completely different from before. On the air the rapporteur appeared and himself confused, informed, so I remember, about problems with the landing of the Polish government aircraft. And then he immediately embraced us, at home, anxiety. All we did was sit there, hypnotized, staring at the tv screen, waiting for fresh information. It is hard to explain – we knew something very bad had happened. We assumed that what might be the worst happened, but it did not pass through our heads, that reason denied that tragedy would transcend any idea... The fear calmed us to pain. tv journalists, I remember, were themselves confused during the alleged entry into the vision, giving contradictory, completely unverified information. It was apparent they were shocked. And then we found out As a consequence of the plane crash of the Polish government aircraft, which occurred in Smolensk on Saturday 10 April 2010, 96 people died, among them: president of the Republic of Poland Lech Kaczyński with his wife, last president of the Republic of Poland in exile Ryszard Kaczorowski, Deputy Marshals of the Sejm and the Senate, a group of parliamentarians, commander of all types of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland, employees of the Chancellery of the President, heads of state institutions, clergymen, representatives of ministries, communist and social organizations, and accompanying persons, representing the Polish delegation for celebrations connected with the 70th anniversary of the Katyn crime (1940), as well as the crew of the aircraft. This was the second in terms of the number of disaster victims in Polish aviation past and the largest in terms of the number of casualties a tragic event in the past of the Polish Air Force. no of the people on the plane survived the crash.

This information was provided on the basis of Russian sources. However, immediately after this information, if I remember correctly, being in a state of incredible agitation and despair, tv reporters reported on respective occasions that they had learned that several, then 3 or two, people had survived. How much we all believed at home that individual had saved himself from this terrible, mind-tough disaster. At least someone. That not all, not all, as if they were sentenced to death, died. Later, from hr to hour, we were taken from all hope that on April 10, 2010, in Smolensk, Russia, on the seventyth anniversary of the Katyn murder, a genocide act, even 1 Pole from a national elite delegation wishing to pay tribute to an annihilated shot in the back of the country's head. Me and my closest household have sunk like many millions of Poles in deep depression and mourning. abruptly we're in an abnormal reality. Indescribable.

You never forget specified events for the remainder of your life.

So we believe that the fact about the causes and perpetrators of the assassination of the elite of the Polish nation will prevail. 1 more minute and he'll appear like a rainbow in the sky. This must be the case, for “ Poland has not yet died while we are inactive alive (...)". We, who were given the large trauma of 10.04.2010. We, Poles and Poles.

And 1 more thing. I think I should mention that. A fewer days after the crash (the assassination) heard that the Polish director, Andrzej Wajda and his wife, Krystyna Zachwatowicz, on the pages of the "GW" powerfully protested the burial of late Lech Kaczyński, the president of Poland and His Wife, Maria on Wawel, on 1 of the portals of the Open Letter, which I concluded as follows:

... Now, to conclude, I will ask you, Mr.Andrew Wajda, has it occurred to you that president Lech Kaczyński "good, modest man", a large patriot, relentless in the fight for the interests of Poland, seeking the historical memory of events crucial to our country, the man who died with his wife and representatives of the Polish elite, going to the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Katyn massacre - erstwhile he rests in Wawel, in the crypt of Józef Piłsudzki - it will be like a symbol of the transfer from the Katyn pits of tormented and humiliated bodies of murdered Poles on Wawel.

Mr Andrzej Wajda, among the Kings of Poland. Do you see this with your artist's eye: they and the president of the Republic of Poland and his wife will be on Wawel fours walking high, shot heads. There on Wawel the president of the Republic of Poland Lech Kaczyński, his wife Maria Kaczyńska and in a deep symbol - Victims of Katyń execution place".

This Open Short Letter commented on respective tens of thousands of people. any fellow countrymen stood behind me in solidarity, others spared me indiscriminate invectories.

Such are my crumbs, an unforgettable, fuzzy memory - 10.04.2010.

Lech Galicki, poet, journalist.
