New R&D Center HuaWei in Shanghai

Construction of the flagship task of HuaWei (chin. 华为) was completed. It is located in Shanghai, in the QingPu territory (chin. 青浦) HuaWei LianQiu R&D Center (chin. 华为练秋湖研发中心). Over 40,000 offices and laboratories for 35,000 technicians and engineers can be located in this investigation and improvement centre.

This centre is expected to support its actions owned by HuaWei HiSilicon, a company specializing in microchip design, and together with China's largest maker of integrated circuits. HuaWei LianQiu R&D Center will deal with wireless technologies specified as 5G-A/6G, smartphones and another devices operating on the network, autonomous electrical cars, etc.

Focused around Lake LianQiu, the R & D center includes 7 separate architectural clusters, including settlements on hills, forest city, university campuses, urban settlements and a water town.

These areas are connected by convenient rail connections and viewing routes. Bridge projects, specified as Moon Bridge, Rainbow Bridge and Arch Bridge, are in the final phase of implementation.

In the future, this place will become a major hub in Huawei's global R & D network, attracting the top talent, nurturing state-of-the-art technologies and helping Huawei accomplish greater breakthroughs in key technological areas.

Combining many R & D centres into 1 monolith, campus, the company has the chance to improve its operations by stepping up cooperation between different departments. The Center of HuaWei LiangQiu is located about 48 km southwest of the centre of Shanghai. It covers a immense area of 10,522 million m2 and is larger than Apple Park and Microsoft Redmond Campus combined (they occupy 708 200 m2 and 2,032 million m2 respectively).

The construction of the centre lasted over 3 years and it is estimated that the costs of its construction amounted to more than 10 billion RMB (about PLN 5.48 billion).
