How was Marxism born? Christian Communism, Messiah, and Salvation on Earth

Everyone has surely heard of the 1848 Communist Manifesto and repeated as a mantra the sentence: “The spectrum is circulating across Europe – the spectrum of communism”, right? The problem is, however, that in social consciousness there are just specified abbreviations, which do not give the essence of the matter, but, on the contrary, distance us from learning the fact about Marxism. In this article, I would briefly like to introduce you to the scenes of the emergence of ideology, which after 150 years not only did not die, but will celebrate its top triumphs in our eyes.

History of Christian Communists from Germany

In 1836, Paris was established Justice Union – organization of German expatriates, founded by Theodore Schuster on the basis of his earlier appointment Banite Union (1834). In 1837 he joined the group Wilhelm WeitlingAnd shortly after, he grew up to be the leader of the movement. The Union of the Righteous brought together supporters of Christian communism believing in revolutionwhich will bring about the resurrection of mankind and establish the Kingdom of God on earth--New Jerusalem. They sought to realize the thought of neighbour love, equality, justice, and universal brotherhood of all men. They regarded private property and money as a origin of greed and exploitation. To a large extent, they benefited from the Blankism (an elite group of activists) and Babuwism (an armed revolution against oppressors). another crucial representatives of the Justice Union included Karl Schapper and Joseph Moll.

The qualitative change occurred in 1847 erstwhile they joined the organization Karl Marx and Frederick Engels. It was then decided to change the name to the Communist Union. The movement has been transformed under the influence of fresh activists and their ideology of “practice-critical action”. The erstwhile movement leader Wilhelm Weitling was marginalized along with his apocalyptic messianism for the benefit of Scientific socialismmaterialistic theory. In 1847, Weitling wrote “Gospel of mediocre Sinners” in the spirit of communism, in which he advocated the abolition of private property, inheritance, money, and household based on faithful relations. In later years, he emigrated to the United States, where in Iowa State he founded the Communia settlement. Charles Marks, unlike Weitling in his program, predicted the uprising modern communism established after the full improvement of industrial capitalism (famous slots). He thus rejected the primitive, utopian communism that he considered sentimental and backward.

Materialistic atheism or secular gnoza?

Contrary to appearances, Marx's conversion of the watch did not turn the Communist Union into an organization of atheistic materialists. That would be besides easy. I described this problem more broadly in the column “The Opium of the People, or Why Marks Cheated Himself”, which was published in the week 2 “The ultimate Time”:

Furthermore, it is worth pointing out that in the opinion of many researchers and philosophers Marxism is simply a realization of modern enlightened gnosy, or alleged political gnosy. Even though Eric Voegelin in his works proves that Marx moved the gnostic imagination of man's liberation from the supernatural to the present. Salvation is to be provided not by theology, but by politics – revolutionary action that will change social relations on earth. Marxism has in itself a powerful professional charge, which transfers to the individuals "conscious", prophets, this avant-garde of the proletariat that will lead the people to redemption. Marx’s eschatology brings the proletariat to the function of a collective redeemer, the Messiah, who will yet be saved despite many sufferings. There will be a breakthrough and reign of an eternal classless society that will know no more greed, desire for possession, or exploitation.

In conclusion, it can be concluded that Marxist ideology was based on Protestant and Judaist spiritual Streams of apocalyptic and Messianic character. He's a form. radiativegnosesIn which the hope of salvation was transferred to the present world, and whose instrument became an emancipative revolution.

In the next part, I will effort to bring you closer to the scenes of the creation of the “Communist organization Manifesto”, the political program of Karol Marx. In the meantime, I urge you read my paper on Fascism explanation according to Komintern, meaning the Communist International. This is an effort to explain the concept of “fascism” in terms of classical Marxists.
