Although Andrzej Duda appointed Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in his speech on 6 November, it is certain that the Law and Justice Government will not gain the majority and the opposition parties will take over. That's good news, but at the same time it's only the beginning of a long road, due to the fact that how do you reconcile the conservative views of the PSL and the demands of the Left? Can ideological disputes in the fresh government prove to be more crucial than the fulfillment of electoral promises?

In the Parliamentary elections on 15 October, for many voters, the goal was primarily to remove the PiS from power. This is why 3 election committees with completely different views decided to join forces against the common enemy, so that democracy would yet prevail in Poland. According to these promises, the Civic Coalition promised to settle the Kaczyński organization in its “100 concretes”, the 3rd Way announced the end of the argument. The left-wing Members have repeatedly reassured voters who fear that specified an explosive mix of views would succeed, saying "we will agree." But are you sure? Coalition talks are fundamentally concluded, but inactive at the end of October Magdalena Biejat, co-chair of the Together organization (which will yet not be part of the fresh government), in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on the Radio ZET, lamented that the programme issues had been sidelined, and the discussion is primarily about the division of positions.

Abortion is simply a world-view case?

Women's rights are surely a trigger. On October 15 it was thanks to a peculiar mobilization of electoral opposition that prevailed. According to the exit poll, "abortion and women's rights" were the second most crucial issue for voters immediately after the "economic situation". At the same time, the ruling of the Constitutional Tribunal on abortion given in the PiS governments made many voters and voters turn distant from the Kaczyński party.

It would so be logical to rise specified an crucial issue for Poles and Poles in coalition talks. Meanwhile, the president of PSL, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, on the second day after the election in a conversation with Bogdan Rymanowski on Radio ZET, stated: “No worldview [such as abortion] can be the subject of a coalition agreement.” There's a storm on the Internet. Even today, erstwhile we enter Kosiniak-Kamish's profile on Instagram, we will see a wave of comments full of outrage.

In line with the 3rd Way election promises, the president of the PSL stuck to the thought for a referendum on abortion and return to "compromise". Piotr Zgorzelski of PSL besides spoke in a akin tone. He said he'd agree to end the women's hell, which he thought all he had to do was go back to the state of affairs before the TK's sentence. Zgorzelski admitted that he did not intend to vote even for decriminalization of abortion. At the same time, KO and Left in their programs announced abortion without asking for a reason until 12 weeks pregnant. On 7 November, KO MPs met with representatives of pro-female organizations specified as Women's Strike, Feminoteka and Legal Abortion. Magda Biejat in consequence to Kosiniak-Kamisha's words said: "Abortion is not a planet view issue. These are matters of life and death.

Ultraconservatives in Government

Abortion and women's rights are not the only issues in dispute. In the same conversation, the PSL president besides acknowledged that he did not intend to vote for single-sex marriages or their adoption of children. Marek Sawicki (chosen by Duda as elder marshal) told him that single-sex couples "can include everything in a notarial act and there is no problem". Of course, that is not true.

Jacek Tomczak, formerly MP of PiS and PO, besides competed on the list of the 3rd Road in Poznań. He was excluded from the second organization in 2018 for breaking organization discipline in voting on abortion projects. Later, as a associate of the Polish Coalition, Tomczak, as the only MP of the party, together with representatives of the Law and the Confederation, voted for the task "Stop LGBT". In 2004, before the first March of Equality in Poznań, Tomczak claimed that in the event "it may besides be about promoting tendencies specified as pedophilia, zoophilia or necrophilia".

While PSL MPs at all costs defend themselves against granting rights to members of the LGBT+ community, KO, 3rd Way and Left have met with activists and activists of the organization for this community. During the meeting, a "first aid package" was presented, i.e. 5 proposals that will start the way to equality.

Polish budget in question

"Worldview Affairs" is not the only possible points in the fresh government. Differences besides arise in the way of reasoning about the future economy. On the 1 hand, the liberal, free marketplace approach of any of the representatives of the KO, on the another hand social programs especially the parties Together. Immediately after announcing the first results of the election in exit poll Szymon Hołownia announced “enough publishing”. Meanwhile, the left-wing Members inactive stress that what has been given will not be taken away. Donald Tusk himself, a candidate for Prime Minister of the fresh government, advocated a change of 500+ to 800+ even before the election.

However, concerns about the real state of finance in Poland have already begun to spread in the media. The Internet-oriented slogan “Dziura Morawiecki” means that money in the country can be much little than it is given to the public. economical liberals from KO or Poland2050 endanger public debt. So it may turn out that politicians specified as Isabella Leszczyna from KO (author of this concept) will opt for cutting public spending alternatively than investing in social programs.
