The candidate for Prime Minister claims that it is hard to avoid taxation increases even in the event of crucial cuts in state spending.

Ilie Bolojan, leader of the Liberal Party, proposed as Prime Minister by president Nicușor Dan, announced that his organization would support efforts to importantly reduce state spending: "cuts where the number of posts is not justified, the elimination of bloated structures on board that are paid besides advanced in relation to the work put in place, the restructuring of state companies, the decentralisation and transfer of powers to local authorities, mergers and mergers of agencies so that the State can reduce its expenditure and offer reasonable services to citizens".

Liberal leader said that spending cuts must be importantly higher than the increase in state revenue, possibly obtained from taxes. However, Bolojan argues that this increase should be achieved primarily by more effective taxation collection. On the another hand, the policy believes that even if the desired cuts in expenditure are achieved and the recovery rate increases, the option to rise taxes remains likely.

President Nicușor Dan stated that he could not say for the minute if there would be taxation increases, as the subject is inactive discussed in a method group created at the Cotrocen Palace from representatives of the organization and presidential administration.
