"Enhance and excitement associated with my gathering yesterday is neither justified nor indicated," wrote Szymon Holownia on page X.
"I am 1 of the fewer politicians in Poland, who – I stress – regularly meets with representatives of both deadly quarreling camps. I stand firm in my position that, especially at present, politicians of different options should talk to each other, otherwise we will kill each other. I consider this to be a norm, not a departure from it, and I will proceed to do so as the talker of the Sejm," we read in his statement.
"Therefore I regularly meet and talk (as today, a very good, 4-hour meeting) with Coalition leaders. Occasionally – besides with opposition. In fresh months I have spoken to Jarosław Kaczyński and Mariusz Błaszczak, and Marek Suski, and Adam Bielan, and Michał Wójcik and many another PiS politicians. Sometimes the subject of talks is crucial for the opposition a bill, sometimes the exchange of information about the current situation, e.g. in the context of relations with the US. That's what happened to them this time," wrote Holownia.
"And the time? It's not different for me to end my day at midnight. Yesterday at 9:30 p.m. I landed in Warsaw after a day filled with marshall duties in Gdańsk and Grudziądz, and this was my only "slot" on that day for a gathering and conversation. End of explanation," he concluded.
