"WOT Holidays" – START!

Vacation is the perfect time to join the Polish Army! On Saturday morning, July 12, nearly 70 volunteers crossed the gate of the 10th Świętokrzyskie Brigade of Territorial Defence in Kielce, starting their military training as part of the WOT vacation project.

This is the sixth edition of summertime basic training organized by 10 WBOT. As all year, the initiative is very interesting – not only among students and students, but besides among teachers and another representatives of the educational community. “I am glad that a large group of young people decided to dedicate part of the vacation to begin their adventure with the uniform,” said Colonel Sławomir Machniewicz, commander of 10 ŚBOT.

Among this year's participants are those under 21 – as many as 90% of all volunteers, and about 19% of them are women. The most many group are advanced school students and technicians. – I decided to follow in the footsteps of my father, who last year became a WOT soldier. The training will take 16 days and is intended for those who have previously had no contact with the military service. On the first day, volunteers received uniforms and individual equipment. The following days will supply intensive training including:
principles of safe usage of weapons,
basics of tactics,
First medical aid on the battlefield,
Muster and regulations,
learning to work with a map and compass.

The culminating minute will be the alleged tactical loop – the test of acquired cognition and skills. The culmination of the full training cycle will be a ceremonial military oath to be held on 27 July in Chęciny on the marketplace at 11:00 p.m.
