The triumph of the Freedom organization (PVV) in the Dutch parliamentary elections is yet another proof of the expanding importance of populist political formations on the Old Continent. Freedom organization leader, Geert Wilders, is celebrated for his preaching controversial slogans. It is widely compared to Donald Trump. Not just due to the distinctive hairstyle.

Geert Wilders has been on the Dutch political scene for years. He founded the Freedom organization in 2006. He was previously an activist of the People's organization for democracy and freedom. He has served in the Dutch home of Representatives since 1998. The views of the organization of Freedom combine the currents characteristic of both the right and the left. Wilders announced, "the restoration of the Dutch country." The winner of the November election believes that external factors endanger conventional Dutch values. In its public message, it stresses the importance of national identity.

Aversion to Europe, Islam and... Poles

In order to increase the support of conservative citizens in the early second decade of the 21st century, the Freedom organization launched a website that allows reporting to citizens of Central and east European countries taking up work in the Netherlands. The platform was very popular. The Dutch showed most of their reluctance to Polish migrants. The run of dislike of Poles met with a media response. On the PownNed tv page a loud article was published, "Drunk Pole Takes Your Work".

Wilders is besides celebrated for Euroscepticism. According to the leader of the Freedom Party, the Netherlands should leave the euro area and exit the European Union comparable to Brexit. The Freedom organization is besides in a position to criticize Islam. Wilders suggested introducing a ban on the usage of the Quran into the Dutch jurisdiction. He demanded that Muslim schools be shut down and that fresh mosques be prevented. Wilders see the Saudi backing of fundamental Islam as 1 of the major threats to modern Europe. He called for the constitutional protection of Judeo Christian and humanistic culture.

The problems and threats posed by mass migration are among many citizens of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

It was the disagreement within the government in the approach to accepting refugees that led to the resignation of the Prime Minister and the establishment of early elections. The housing marketplace is besides problematic for the Netherlands. The government coalition led by Prime Minister Mark Rutte neglected the issue of municipal housing. In fresh years, housing prices have become a major problem for residents as well as the deficiency of fresh locations to manage. The influx of immigrants further worsens the situation.

The popularity of nationalist parties campaigning against mass immigration is increasing in Europe. The populists stress the request to defend borders. At the same time, there are no ideas for a rational migration policy. In the face of the demographic collapse of the Old Continent, maintaining economical improvement in European countries must be based on outside work. Politicians usage aversion to strangers. The centre-right party, the Italian Brothers, systematically increased its support in Italy. Group leader – Giorgia Meloni in 2022 became the prime minister of Italy. Marie Le Pen, celebrated for her nationalist views, reached the second circular of the French presidential election. In Germany, the popularity of Alternatives for Germany (AfD) is growing. In Slovakia, Robert Fico again took the position of Prime Minister.

Tweede Kamer Elections

On November 22, 2023, the Dutch elected their representatives to the General States. In the case of the Lower House, Tweede Kamer, 150 representatives of the nation were appointed for a four-year term. The Freedom organization won 37 seats, by 20 seats expanding its numerical composition compared to the erstwhile term. The second consequence was obtained by a left-wing coalition, with a leader in the form of Frans Timmermans. The Labour organization (PvdA) together with the GreenLinks collected a full of 25 seats. In turn, the 3rd consequence in the parliamentary elections came to the Liberal People's organization for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). The political group serving as Prime Minister Mark Rutte since 2010 won 24 seats. Unlike VVD's election winner, she had marked a decline in popularity. Compared to the erstwhile elections, they lost 10 seats in parliament. On the another hand, separate leftist forces in the 2021 election improved their score by 9 seats.

The fresh Social Agreement (NSC) can number on 20 mandates. The Tweede Kamer jury will besides sit on politicians representing, among others, the Social Liberal D66 Party, taking care of the interests of farmers BBB, the Chadecja (CDA), the Socialist organization (SP), the Forum for Democracy (FvD), the Protestant SGP and the Conservative Chadecja (ChristienUnie). An interesting fact is the DENK organization – a left-wing political group lobbying for the Turkish number in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Compared to the 2021 election, she maintained her number of tickets – DENK can number on 3 seats in Tweede Kamer. The voter turnout reached a level above 77%.

Before Geert Wilders, another challenge. The obtained number of tickets forces him to search for possible coalitions. There is simply a anticipation of cooperation between the Freedom organization and another groups representing right-wing values. Leaders VVD, Dilan Yesilgoz and NSC, Pieter Omtzigt do not exclude cooperation within the government coalition. Right-wing parties can make a political force worth 81 mandates. In the event of Wilders' failure, the mission of forming a government has a chance to get the leader of the left. Together with VVD, NSC, and D66, they could number on 78 tickets.
