The Spanish right-wing Vox organization brought a complaint to the ultimate Court on Thursday against the Minister of Transport Oscar Puente in connection with a railway crash in Toledo Province, where 69 people were killed, reported the agency EFE. The group blames the minister for gross negligence in the supervision of the railway.
The organization headed by Santiago Abascala accuses the minister of inadvertently bringing passengers to death and injury as a consequence of gross negligence, including failure to comply with railway safety obligations.
As the EFE stated, the group is demanding that information on the deficiencies in the safety strategy be provided or should have been obtained by the Minister, what corrective actions he has taken and how he has supervised their implementation.
The complaint besides cited the warnings made after earlier railway accidents in Adamuz and Gelida, which occurred in January, and the agreement between the Ministry of Transport and the trade unions of 9 February on improving infrastructure maintenance, expanding employment and rail safety.
