Democratic candidate Taylor Rehmet defeated Republican Leigh Wambsgansss in the Texas state legislature election. This happened despite the fact that for many years the territory had been dominated by the Republican Party. The winner's counter-candidate was supported by U.S. president Donald Trump in the campaign.
