The Canadian Government publically ensures that it analyses the anticipation of limiting the acquisition of American F-35 and replacing parts with Swedish JAS 39 Gripen fighters. But behind the scenes something completely different happens – Ottawa has already paid for the next 5th generation fighters. The deeper Canada enters the F-35 program, the harder it will be to retreat from it.
