The expression of the oldest utmost run in Poland, referring to tests carried out by peculiar forces, has not yet exhausted itself. In the 19th run of Katorżnik, 869 runners competed, 853 of whom reached the finish line. In respective series of main run at a distance of 8.5 km, players for the first time in the past of the event had to beat along the full Lake Posmyk.
A year ago, the 19th cult edition Catering Run She was being questioned. Inventors and organizers of competitions for runners who loved utmost challenges, i.e. members of the Military Club of the Runner Meta Lubliniec, thought that their interest in moving had fallen. However, the players were seemingly of a different opinion and mobilized Meta to proceed organizing the event. Lubliniecki club in cooperation, among others, with the Commander of the peculiar Forces Component organized this year's run on a fresh route, with a start and finish in a fresh place. The runners were no longer on the road from Oblacka Przystani. The starting point was Forest Ustronie Posmyk.
– The most commonly heard words erstwhile asked how the fresh place of start and finish was: we feel more acquainted here. We enjoyed these opinions, as well as further considerable interest in our course. We are already reasoning about the jubilee edition and we will surely effort to surprise the runners again – says St. Chor. staff. dir. This year, the low water level in the lake made the organizers, apart from changing the starting place and the finish line, decide to lead the way along Lake Posmyk for the first time in history. – The final kilometre of eight-and-a-half-kilometre way required players to overcome the muddy section of the lake. They had, of course, episodes in the swamps filled with natural obstacles," added the Ensign.
This year, the winners of the main gears, apart from the journalists, did not have problem reaching the finish line in little than 2 hours. “We deliberately shortened the way for many debutants, including many older players. We didn't want to discourage them from coming to us to entertain them. And not all of them got to the finish: 2 players were prevented from hypoglycemia, 1 hypothermia, and 4 joint sprains. Our paramedics besides had to deal, among others, with cut wounds in 10 runners, and in 2 cases it was essential to rinse their eyes, says Rosiński.
The contestants in the run were traditionally divided into respective groups that started competing at different times – the winner of each series was recognized as an equal triumphant of the event. The first group of runners took the way at 10 a.m. He was the first to scope the finish – after 1 hr 33 min 59 s marching and moving – Rafał Golec from the 18th Reconnaissance Battalion. The second race of men was won by Marcin Połczyński from Zgierz (1 hours 29 min 44 s), and the 3rd Daniel Stroinski from Warsaw (1 hours 37 min 43 s). In the rivalry of women, in which 84 players were ranked, Ewa Bambynek from Droniowice triumphed (1 hr 45 min 50 s). On the another hand, in the individual squad run classification Galernik squad the best time out of 95 classified people was awarded by Paweł Wójcik from Agatka's Gagatka squad – the way was beaten in 1 hr by 36 min 33 s. In the VIP rivalry, Hubert Kalman from the squad Licitation of the large Orchestra of Christmas Charity – HMTRANS.PL (1 hours 36 min 1 s) and in the category of journalists Jacek Parol from the writer Society (2 hours 7 min 43 s).
In squad rivalry, in the moving of the Galernik Team, with the participation of 19 four-man teams, the best were the Agatka Gagatki. Triumphs achieved a full time of 6 hours 36 min 37 s. The winning squad included: Paweł Wójcik, Mateusz Razim, Sebastian Sieja and Kamil Kurczyk. Second place, with a time of 6 hours 52 min 46 s, took the squad exhibited by the Commandos Military Unit. The 3rd place was occupied by armored men from the 9th Armored Cavalry Brigade. Soldiers from Braniewa defeated the way at a full time of 7 hours 1 min 37 s.
The youngest associate in the 19th Katorżnik Race was born in... 2022. small Gabriela's short tour for the babies has, of course, defeated her parent's ace. The oldest player was the 85-year-old Helena Wind of Oleśnica. She competed for the seventh time in the party. In turn, her boy Sławomir, the organizer of the Oleśnica Wichra Pogrom, the Lubiniecki mud run has already defeated 17 times.
For 17 years, the National safety Office has held the patronage over the Katorznik Run. The players who finished the race received a heavy, cast iron horseshoe on the chain as always on Katorźnik.
