Hacktivism and the law. What do we know about the activities of groups like Anonymous?

In addition to professional APT groups, frequently supported or straight cooperating with governments and services, there are besides hacktivists who engage in activities in cyberspace. The example of the war in Ukraine shows that their importance is as crucial in carrying out attacks on the enemy's side as hacker groups. How does the law treat them?
