The national defence minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish distinguished 28 soldiers especially active in helping flood victims in the framework of Operation Feniks. “Today, the inhabitants of the flood areas, erstwhile they see the uniform, feel safe and it is something priceless,” stressed the Deputy Prime Minister.
Objective Operation Fenix, which started on 23 September, is to safe and rebuild flood sites in the south of Poland. At present, about 4,000 soldiers are involved, and at the highest there were 26 1000 of them. Twenty-eight distinguished during this military operation received commemorative ryngraphs from Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Minister of National Defence. – I would like to thank you personally for what you did during the flood action and what you are inactive doing for the residents of Lower Silesia and Opole, rebuilding, Saving lives and health, carrying out disinfection and purification operations – said Deputy Prime Minister, distinguishing soldiers from the Task Force Engineering Army.
When mentioning areas of their activity, the minister mentioned, among others, the reconstruction of bridges, roads, the removal of voids threatening collapse, disinfection of rooms and wells. “The aid of the floods was besides provided in Nysa by a medic from the 2nd Military Field Hospital, who saved the wellness and life of over a 1000 patients,” Kosiniak-Kamish said.
As he emphasized, it was all thanks to the soldiers, who have devoted their time from the beginning, carrying out tasks in very hard conditions. “Today the inhabitants of the flood areas, erstwhile they see the uniform, feel safe and it is something priceless,” said the head of the MON.
Thanks on behalf of the distinguished, Colonel Krzysztof Jarozek, commander of the 1st Bomb Squadron from the Bank, recalled that it has just been 100 days since the engineering troops rescued the floods and removed the effects of the large water. – Soldiers have since the first day of floods engaged in the rescue of the victims, there are soldiers who were with me in Kłodzek, medics saving people close Lewin Brzeski, people who put the first bridges, among others, in Skrzegoszczy – mentioned Colonel Jaroszek.
The officer besides assured that the soldiers were ready to work and carry out tasks not only until the end of April 2025, until Operation Fenix is due to take placeBut as long as it takes.
