Special session
A peculiar commemorative session was held in the European Parliament in Brussels on Wednesday. Among the participants was Corrie Hermann, daughter of Hungarian composer Pal Hermann, murdered by the Germans.
As Robert Petsol, head of EP, described the full event:
Today we commemorate six million judaic men, women and children murdered by Nazi Germany. Six million lives lost as a consequence of deliberate, organized and state-sponsored genocide of Jews in Europe.
Metsola recalled that the Holocaust preceded the dehumanization of Jews, and present anti-Semitism is increasing again – the number of hatred crimes has increased by 400 percent in Europe. Corrie Hermann in turn told the communicative of her father, Pal Hermann, arrested in 1944 and deported to Drancy camp. The letter thrown out of the train asking to save his instruments was his last message. The saved cello was utilized for a short recital for Euro MPs.
A minute of silence interrupted by Braun
The full ceremony was disrupted by Grzegorz Braun, shouting during her announcement by president Robert Metsola. He wanted to commemorate the "Jewish genocide in the Gaza Strip". Despite requests for silence, he continued to interfere even erstwhile all Euro MPs rose. As a result, Metsola ordered him to leave the room.

The actual face of confederation! Braun expelled for disorderly conduct during a peculiar plenary session on global Holocaust Memorial Day and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. Shame!
At the request of EP president Robert Metsola, Grzegorz Braun was excluded from the gathering and expelled by Parliamentary Guard. He is threatened by sanctions, including the failure of up to EUR 21 000. The EP's rules of procedure let it to be removed for 2 to 60 days and its behaviour was considered to be a serious infringement. It can besides be temporarily suspended in EP work and lose its right to represent him at global events for a year.
