Grzegorz Braun: Poland will not prosecute another people's interests

– 1 of my goals is to start a serious discussion on the change of the Polish strategy to the presidential one, in order to avoid the competency chaos – says Euro MP Grzegorz Braun, who started campaigning for the president of Poland in Gdańsk. On this occasion, we decided to make an appointment early and talk to the candidate for the highest office in Poland.

Maciej Nastrzet: Why did you choose Gdańsk as the starting place for your run as president of Poland?

Grzegorz Braun: Not by accident. It was in Gdańsk, 5 years ago, that I became a political professional. Earlier, I was an occasional director-documentary and storyteller, although I became increasingly active in public life. I took part in the 2015 presidential run and at that time I did not should be ashamed present – I warned that I would not send Poles to the Ukrainian war. Many then did not realize what was going on; today, unfortunately, everyone does. I don't gotta delete any tweets or retaliate old words – I'm inactive in the same position.

I am besides connected with Gdansk with respective stages of political action. After the 2015 presidential campaign, I founded a social organization Pobudka with colleagues (her program is “Church–School–Strzelnica–Mennica”). In 2018, we initiated an act of the Gietrzwałdzka Confederation – then recognized as an exotic, now more and more understood, especially in the context of the upcoming 150th anniversary of the Gietrzwałdzka apparitions.

In Gdańsk, I ran for the city's president's supplementary election and achieved a consequence that allowed the Confederation to "disenchant" in polls and public opinion. This was the starting point for subsequent campaigns – first to the Europarlamento, then in the elections to the Sejm. Since then, a lot has changed, but I inactive have a sentiment for Gdańsk. On the 1 hand, due to the fact that crucial political battles were fought here, and on the another hand, for individual and household reasons.

Returning to Gdańsk is so an chance for me to stand in the same "start blocks" as before and present to Poles a clear, coherent programme, this time as part of the fight for the highest office in the country.

If you win in becoming president of the Republic of Poland, what will be your first decision at the Presidential Palace?

Thank you very much for that question. They must be asked boldly and realisticly today, due to the fact that by May or June there is inactive a long way to go and much can happen, both on the national and global stage.

If I could act like the president of the United States, I would delete the full green order agenda with 1 signature and retreat Poland from many unfavourable global treaties. I would definitely like to cut the thought of imposing harmful migration pacts on us, and I would besides like to delete the agreements which, in my opinion, impose on Poland another will and lead us to the failure of sovereignty.

Unfortunately, Poland does not have the same presidential powers as in the US and the decree itself is not enough. Therefore, 1 of my objectives is to launch a serious debate on the change of strategy to presidential to avoid the competency chaos between the President, Prime Minister and talker of the Sejm.

In practice, if I were to become president of Poland, I would immediately appeal for the enforcement of Polish sovereignty on the global stage. I would launch decisive action on energy safety and halt overpaying for energy. I would besides address the exhumation in Jedwabne and Volyn. In Poland we have the right and work to establish historical fact without looking at external pressures.

I would besides point straight to the request for accelerated parliamentary elections if it were found that the majority of the Sejm did not want to cooperate on the essential political changes. The triumph in the presidential election could stimulate the political scene so that the fresh hand would be very likely.

What would you say to those voters who believe in the polls and believe that giving up your vote is simply a wasted voice?

I would advise them to turn off the tv and turn on the thinking. 1 must decide who is behind Poland and who is against it. I want my children to be free people in their own country, not doing another people's business.

Surveys are a tool that more frequently creates political reality than reflects it. Persuasion and manipulation dominate the diagnosis. Let's not get involved. Poland needs a truly independent leader who will only think about the welfare of Polish citizens.

Aren't you afraid your start in the presidential election will lead to a break in the Confederacy?

Which Confederacy are you asking about? I co-created the first Confederation of Freedom and Independence. As for the current "neo-Confederation", which is managed by the "neo-leaders", I leave this without comment.

I'm not going to the election to phase interior conflicts. I'm campaigning positive, and I'm not going to waste my time on idle pushing. I focus on reaching Poles with a clear programme. I am in favour of full independency of Poland – in the economic, geopolitical and cultural dimension. That's it. That's it.

Let's decision on to global politics. Should Polish policy towards Russia or Ukraine change and how?

She should definitely change. Currently, we are not conducting a Polish policy at all, but a policy subject to abroad capital guidelines. For example, the policy of service towards Ukraine – this is not the Polish right of state.

Poland, like any country, should be curious in normalising relations with its neighbours in the east, west, south and north. Today, there is no dispute that would make Poles enter the way of armed conflict. Why, then, have we been facing war for years?

We request to take care of safety and national interest, not unreflexively finance non-Polish matters. adequate money has already been taken out of the Polish pocket for wars and actions that are not our responsibility, and frequently do not service our citizens at all.

Andrzej Duda, who pursues Ukrainian matters, alternatively of Polish matters, is not the Polish president – this is simply a traitor. If individual made a full Polish army and a full nation a contributor to another people's wars, it acts to the detriment of the state.

Speaking of relations with Ukraine, you can't miss the Volyn case. How would Gregory Braun solve this hard subject?

Only on diplomatic road, but with a clear national interest of Poland. If Warsaw had shown a bit of assertiveness, e.g. in the substance of closing for certain military flights of the runway in Jasionka, we would have immediately seen the Ukrainian side's readiness to talk. There are no sentiments in global politics, there are interests.

It must be made clear: the memory and the burial of the victims of Volyn is the foundation of average relationships. If we inactive can't exhume, if the Ukrainian side raises monuments to criminals, it's hard to talk about real reconciliation. Here we request a firm position and a clear message that without respecting Polish historical sensitivity there is no further cooperation.

You have been criticized many times, as Grzegorz Braun, for expressive gestures and speeches – for example, erstwhile you criticized the celebration of Hanuki in the Sejm or called for prayer for victims of the conflict in the Gaza Strip on the Palestinian side. You never thought it might be besides harsh, did you?

I frequently hear that "maybe I've gone besides far" – but I ask: what would happen if I went any further? erstwhile individual spits on Polish traditions and symbols, 1 cannot pretend that “it’s just raining”.

If abroad ceremonies are held at the central point of the legislative authority in Poland and shows manifestations of Talmudic racism, then I cannot be passive. Similarly, erstwhile innocent people are killed in Gaza – it is hard to stand aside. Politics is not a competition for the sympathy of all media – 1 must respond even if it is uncomfortable or politically incorrect.

You have most likely heard that the president of the Constitutional Court has submitted a announcement to the prosecutor regarding the alleged "state attack". Do we have a coup in Poland?

In Poland, we have had permanent violations of civilian rights and freedoms for years. Further teams lead to the actual demolition of the state. We had sanitary murder, warrants, bans, home arrests, excess deaths, and now we're being charged with the cost of individual else's war.

With respect to the allegations of a "state attack" in the area of justice, this is nothing but a consequence of long-standing political pushovers. The rulers created dualism of judicial power: we have “old” and “new” judges who do not recognise each other. This pathology is the consequence of political actions by groups that decided years ago to stubbornly support the judiciary.

Today, the president of the Constitutional Court reports the case to the D.A., and alternatively of acting, the prosecution is silent. In my opinion, this is proof that law and justice (in terms of values, not parties) have been marginalised in Poland and require systemic repair.

Mr President, let us talk more about the fresh US Ambassador to Poland – Mr Thomas Rose. He was a erstwhile editor of 1 of the crucial American media, calling himself a conservative and simultaneously orthodox Jew. What do you think of this nomination?

In my opinion, it is an component of a clear, calculated American policy that casts its “governors” in Warsaw – representatives of influential environments. If individual is at the same time the head of a large media centre and declares a strong religious-ethnic commitment, he is likely to come here to effectively represent not only the interests of the United States, but besides the interests of judaic communities.

This, unfortunately, bodes the continuation of judaic claims and anti-Polish historical policy. I am the only candidate for president who spoke clearly from the beginning: Act 447, coming from American circles, and claims against Poland are a real threat. If Ambassador Rose wishes to implement specified demands, we must respond decisively and assertively. And if he is not able to show Poland any respect in any way – he will inactive be able to return from where he came from.

In conclusion, if you neglect to enter the second circular of elections, who will you hand over your votes to?

That question is irrelevant to me. I don't stand for election for fun or for rehearsal. I go for victory, I fight for Poland's independence. And, I say this without satisfaction, I'm in this category practically uncompetitive.

All another candidates want to "hold" this fictitious sovereignty at most; I am clear: it needs to be recovered. Which of my counter-candidates will dare to protest at least the exterritoriality of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum or the false historical policy that strikes Poland? Which 1 of them explicitly declares the desire to normalize relations with all its neighbours, including Russia and Belarus, alternatively of further fueling conflicts and overpaying for energy?

Therefore, I am not considering the script of "voting" – I am going to win and make real changes.

Thank you for talking to me.

Thank you. God bless and see you.
