On Tuesday, in a vote in Strasbourg, the European Parliament lifted the immunity of Euro MP Grzegorz Braun, who is simply a candidate in the presidential elections in Poland. It's about the investigation into Braun's extinguishing of Khanuk candles in the Sejm.
The investigation is conducted by the territory Attorney's Office in Warsaw in connection with Braun's extinguishing utilizing a Khanuk candle fire extinguisher in December 2023 during the ceremony in the Sejm.
Before that, Braun's immunity was abolished by the Polish parliament. As the policy gained the mandate of the Euro MP in the European elections of June 2024, the prosecution requested the waiver of the privilege to defend him from judicial work besides to the European Parliament.
