The notification from the Silesian Voivodeship to the Katowice-West territory Attorney's Office concerns the offence of insulting the place of national memory - informed the Silesian Provincial Office on Friday. Grzegorz Braun broke the flag of the European Union, wiped his shoes and then set fire to it.
On Tuesday, Grzegorz Braun entered the office of the Ministry of manufacture in Katowice with Mr Roman Fritz as part of - as they stated - "Member intervention". The EU flag displayed there was taken down, trodden and taken with him. He went to the mine, where he appeared at a press conference entitled "How much will it cost to liquidate mines". The flag was set on fire under a cross-memory dedicated to victims of the pacification of the plant.
Director nurturing memory of the murdered miners of the Silesian Freedom and Solidarity Centre Robert Ciupa in an interview with PAP assessed policy behaviour as "scandalous".

The Silesian Provincial Office reported that the voivode had submitted a notification to the Katowice-West territory Attorney's Office concerning the crime through insulting the place of national memory, offences by interfering with public policy in museum premises and offences by use of flammable substances in a place not intended.
Grzegorz Braun could lose his immunity. Prosecutor’s Office notified
The protest at the Katowice mine began after the martial law was introduced. As a consequence of the pacification by militia forces and troops, on 16 December 1981, Józef Czekalski, Krzysztof Giza, Ryszard Gzik, Bogusław Kopczak, Zenon Zając, Zbigniew Wilk, Andrzej Pełka, Jan Stawisiński and Joachim Gnida died. 23 miners were injured by bullets, and many suffered lighter injuries. A part of the cross-remembrance before is placed on the right side of the monument a colt, in which the urns were placed with the ground from the graves of miners - victims of pacification.

On Wednesday, the Katowice Police Station reported that completed the evidence and documentation and prepared an application to the Police office for legal assistance to waive immunity to Grzegorz Braun.
Tuesday The European Parliament has lifted the immunity of Mr Braun concerning respective investigations, including the extinguishing of Khanukian lights in the Polish Parliament. The waiver of immunity opened the way for Polish authorities to conduct proceedings against politics.
