Nearly 80 employees of the local government administration from Poznań took part in a peculiar training for them from the cycle "Train with the Army". The initiative came from the Wielkopolska Provincial Office, and the classes were organized by the Center for Training of Land Forces. Participants learned, among others, weapons handling and basic tactics.
– The thought was inactive born in May – says Lt. Aneta Kurowska, spokesperson for the Center for the Training of Land Forces in Poznań. – At the time we organized another edition of the training cycle “Train with the Army”. Among another things, we sent the invitation to the Greater Poland Voivodeship Agata Sobczyk – he added. The head of the office appeared in the CSWL, learned the course of the classes and concluded that it was worth having akin trainings passed by her subordinates as well. – As civilian servants, we besides care about the safety of residents. The WUW requested the Ministry of Defence to organise military training for officials. MON gave its consent and the task was entrusted to CSWL. peculiar edition “Train with the Army” She yet attracted nearly 80 participants. “When we made a list of volunteers, we decided not to limit ourselves to our office. That is why employees of the Poznań city office, old age, local councillors and governors joined us, says Mucha. With them in mind, CSWL instructors arranged the program divided into 5 segments.
– The first 1 focused on weapon handling. Participants learned about construction and operating principles Beryl carbine. They besides had the chance to train shooting in simulator Snowman – explains Major Łukasz Orzechowski of CSWL. Another section was devoted to the field of study. The students worked with a map and a bushel. They had to show that they were able to keep an eye on the field and set the direction of the march. Then came the time for elements of SERE. – Here the participants practiced lighting the fire, masking. We showed them how to collect water utilizing a peculiar sheet, explained what should contain an evacuation backpack," said Major Orzechowski. The program included the basics of tactics and a short first aid course, during which the students, among others, operated the defibrillator. – We had an insured march as well as a class utilizing KTO Rosomak. Individual groups had to enter and leave the vehicle under fire, which we staged for them – says Major Orzechowski.
The students were trained in 5 groups. Among them were both comparatively young people and middle-aged people. Most had no military preparation, although there were exceptions. A reserve colonel took part in the class, who left a fewer years ago for a civilian. In general, everyone practiced with commitment and did well – said Major Orzechowski. Finally, the participants received certificates and ate military peas. It was surely an interesting experience. I was most impressed by the evacuation to Rosomaka. We had to run through the smoke, in the midst of flashes of light, imitation of gunshots. Of course, it was only a simulation of the battlefield, but in any ways we felt that in specified situations they could decide virtually seconds – says Mateusz Mucha. Saturday's training was accompanied by the slogan "Great Polish administration – together safe".
“Train with the Army” – is simply a task initiated by MON (the 5th edition of the programme is being implemented this year). elder citizens may attend classes with military instructors who want to learn the basics of soldier craft. Training takes 1 day and is conducted in pre-designated units throughout the country. Since the beginning, the task has enjoyed large interest. – We had edits, during which the training was conducted in 3 different terms and each time 150–160 people appeared on our facilities. In May, we closed the list of volunteers in a day and a half. We were mainly trained by residents of Poznań and the surrounding area, but we besides had visitors from Bydgoszcz and even Gdynia – says Lieutenant Kurowska.
